Roast Restaurant: Get Your Roast in Borough Market

Roast Restaurant in Borough Market

It is the perfect time of the year to be talking about roasts. Admittedly, roasts are pretty good all year round, but, especially during the winter, they are a must for seeing us all through until the spring. Located in the world famous haven for all things good in food and drink, Borough Market, Roast is a specialist restaurant, which promises to deliver ‘Deliciously British’ food.

It is not only roasts, however, that the restaurant – owned by the famous restaurateur, Iqbal Wahhab OBE – serves up; their menu is diverse and delivers treats from Yorkshire cock pheasant and woodland mushroom pie to Butterbean and spinach casserole.

There are also a wide range of heart warming desserts, with the Mulled wine poached pear being especially attractive during the festive season. It is also difficult to look too far past the Bramley apple crumble and sticky date pudding – but now we are simply digressing into a sugary and sweet wax lyrical.

Breakfast is another thing that Roast – which is also renowned for organising exquisite corporate events – delivers impeccably. With its location being so perfect, with the river just a short stroll away and all sorts of places to meander through on a winter’s morning, Roast may also be the perfect place to ease the pains of a heavy night. With a well stocked bar, it is also possible to numb the hangover with a more combative approach.

Prices aren’t cheap, but for what you get, in terms of quality of food and quality of location, it is well worth it. No visit to London is complete without a visit to Borough Market, and Roast Restaurant is certainly now one of our number one spots for Sunday lunch.

Booking online is advisable during the business end of the festive season and rocking up unannounced could lead to an extended wait at the bar – a danger to anyone with the thirst for a tipple.
