It’s one of the only vintage places where you feel that every piece has been handpicked. The unique thing about Radio Days is that the stock is chosen to suit specific customer requests. You’ll discover a set of 1970s Blue Peter books, 1960s trouser suits, a couple of heavy wooden gramophones and the holy grails of vintage: 1930s cigarette cases, enameled compacts, and boned corsets.
The shop is really well laid out, so it’s easy to find things by category – clothing is in the second room, furniture and accessories in the front. Plus it’s not so rammed with stuff that you feel the whole shelf will come down if you pick something up. If you stick around long enough you will probably be offered a cup of tea or coffee, and speaking to the owners is well worth it if you need them to hunt down a special item.
