I've done a lot of reviews in the Square Mile, but ashamedly I've never visited the Phở Mile in Shoreditch. Well there isn't much around that section of Shoreditch, apart from well...Vietnamese restaurants. Much like pizza places, they are great for visiting in your local area, but would you travel across town just for a bowl of phở?
The combination of the words ‘theme’ and ‘restaurant’ would usually be enough to send most self-respecting gourmands running for the hills but, here in our funny old metropolis, there’s often an exception to any rule. Pond in Dalston is one such place- a homage to the Hawaiian dining craze sweeping across America, or from "across The Pond", and certainly no relation to the downmarket ‘tiki huts’ blighting the landscapes of suburbia.
Trip Space, a multi-functional cultural space beneath the railway arches of Haggerston have played host to a seriously eclectic array of events and activities covering everything from Contemporary Choreography and Acro Yoga through to Contact Improvisation though to my knowledge, never have their permanent offerings tasted so good.
