Bedroom Bar: Shoreditch

The name could appeal to a wide range of people straight away – two of our favourite places are the bedroom and the bar. Immediately you are given the impression of a laid back vibe.  There is, however, much more to it than simply reclining back for a relaxed night out.

Bedroom Bar boasts a whole host of unique and alternative music nights, with two great sound systems and two great stages. The music is about as varied as one could possibly imagine and they even broadcast on occasion through live streams and podcasts.

On top of the music, the bar is also in cahoots with the Comedy Cafe Theatre, which hosts some of the biggest names on the stand-up comedy circuit. A look through their current listings illustrates a combination of  established performers as well as the showcase of some new, up and coming artists.

The bar also hosts swing dance nights and has some great food on offer. There is Jubo – the late night Korean canteen – which serves up some mouth-watering chicken dishes to keep you full of juice throughout an energetic night out. There is also a great cocktail menu, with prices ranging from £7.50-9. The most potent of these seems to be the Bed Head, which has a ‘two per person per night’ rule, in order to protect ‘morning after’ sanity.

The bar can be hired out for private parties and, with so much on offer, it makes a great destination for a special get together. The owner has done a great job of attracting a good crowd in an area that can often descend into hipster chaos and it is a great option for a sophisticated yet indulgent night out.
